as most of you know, i love to read. i've been thinking about what i can do this summer, since i have a lot of down time in the evenings, and i have decided that i am going to read as many as i can of the top 100 classics on collegeboard.com.

i've read a lot of them, but i haven't read a lot of them too, and since i'm supposed to be teaching these books to students, i should probably have read them, and picked the best ones.

one caveat that i may add is; i will not be reading neither the iliad nor the odyssey again. i will probably have to teach them, so i'll worry about that when it comes up.

today is my last day of school. i am extatic.

i've done summer classes the last two summers, so i have now been going to school for 9 semesters straight. i need a summer to relax.

i'm a terrible journal writer, but this line of journals seems like something i could actually do. all you have to do is write a one line memory, quote, or whatever, per day for five years. i can do that!

there is a standard one, but also one made specifically for mom's, and i think it's adorable.

i'm not big on religious decorative paraphernalia; that's what growing up in my parent's house will do to you. it's rare when i find something that i really love, and even more rare (it has never happened until now) that i actually buy it.

i saw this print last summer, and i've been thinking about it ever since so i finally bought one, and it came in the mail last saturday. i love the provo temple for many reasons, but mainly because it reminds me of home, and it reminds me of my eternal family (davis and i were married there in 2007). now we can enjoy a piece of it in our home.

thank you ashmae for this beautiful print. someday, i hope to get one of her personalized portraits as well.

with two 30 page papers due tomorrow at midnight, i've been pretty disconnected the past couple of weeks. i hadn't planned on blogging, but i saw this quote today at church and it really stood out to me.

weekend fun:
we went to bay cities in santa monica over the weekend, which is a deli and italian market. we've heard about this place from millions of people, but it always comes with a disclaimer about the wait. luckily our wait wasn't so bad, but after going it makes perfect sense why people are willing to go through hell for this place. it was delicious, and we already tried to go back, but they are closed on monday's. ha.

the bread at bay cities was definitely the best bread i've ever eaten and i really wish i were munching on a loaf right now.

this is the godmother. davis and I both got this with the works, and we will forever be godmother lovers.

hope you had a deliciously relaxing weekend too. we sure did.

i'm ready to blog again. after our trip to utah i have a renewed joie de vivre and i have vowed to be more positive.

despite the fact that i feel like most of you would be uninterested in my seriously mundane life, i recently realized that this period of our lives could potentially be over soon and i'm really sad about it. so instead of ignoring the days and weeks of solitary confinement, i will instead smile, take pictures, and post them to my blog on a semi-regular basis.

***UPDATE*** after posting this, i tried to upload pictures from our trip and our sd card reader isn't working so i may have already failed at my goal. ha. next post; i swear.

i was cleaning off some files on my computer when i stumbled through a folder of images that i didn't recognize.
when i went into it, i realized that it was the set of images that davis had made, annotated, and hand bound into a book to propose to me.
each picture had a caption about a moment during our friendship or relationship. the last one was the ring image, and then he proposed.
